Okay, I'm just going to say it, the 996 generation, out of all the generations is the worst 911 ever built! Now, this is an ideal car, but man, there are some things that I absolutely dislike. See, the 996 and the Boxster were the "transition cars", the cars to transition Porsche from acting like a boutique marque, and to move along to more efficient logistics and manufacturing processes.
Hey, speed junkie! Imagine hitting 60 miles per hour in less than 5 seconds and still being under budget. Yeah, I know, we don't have a ton of cash to go from zero to hero! But you’re about to find out it doesn't take a whole lot of cash to go fast!
And now, I have my real-life straight-piped Hot Wheel that brings a huge smile to my face every time I drive it: my Porsche 911. Now that I’ve owned my dream car for a couple of years, here are four things, plus an honorable mention, that I didnt know about owning the car that has no substitute: the Porsche 91. Oh, and at the end, I’ll dig into a little of what I’ve learned about being a Porsche owner.
